DESCRIPTION

· The TVP5150AM1 is an ultralow-power NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoder available in 48-terminal PBGA or 32-terminal TQFP packages.

· It converts NTSC, PAL, and SECAM video signals to 8-bit ITU-R BT.656 format with discrete syncs available.

· The decoder operates with a single 14.31818-MHz crystal for all standards and features a 3.3-V digital I/O supply voltage range.

· It is qualified for automotive applications (AEC-Q100 Rev G) and operates within an industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.



FEATURES

· Accepts NTSC, PAL, and SECAM video inputs with two composite inputs or one S-Video input.

· Supports ITU-R BT.601 standard sampling and features a high-speed 9-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC).

· Includes advanced programmable video output formats such as ITU-R BT.656, 8-bit 4:2:2 with embedded syncs, and 8-bit 4:2:2 with discrete syncs.

· Features macrovision copy protection detection and fully differential CMOS analog preprocessing channels with clamping and automatic gain control (AGC).

· Offers VBI modes support including teletext, closed-caption decode with FIFO, extended data services (XDS), and wide-screen signaling.

· Includes a patented architecture for locking to weak, noisy, or unstable signals and a custom configuration mode for unique VBI data signals.



APPLICATIONS

· Portable applications due to its ultralow power consumption, with typical operating power of 115 mW and less than 1 mW in power-down mode.

· Automotive applications, with specific models qualified under AEC-Q100 Rev G.

· Video processing systems requiring high-quality video decoding with features like brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and sharpness control through I2C.

· Systems needing synchronization with external encoders via subcarrier genlock output.
