DESCRIPTION

· The UA78M is a fixed-voltage integrated-circuit voltage regulator designed for a wide range of applications. It is used for on-card regulation to eliminate noise and distribution issues associated with single-point regulation. It can also be used with power-pass elements to create high-current voltage regulators. The UA78M delivers up to 500mA of output current and does not require an external capacitor for stable operation. It includes internal current-limiting and thermal-shutdown features for overload protection. The device is characterized for a junction temperature range of –40°C to +125°C.
