DESCRIPTION

· The UC3872 is a resonant lamp ballast controller designed for driving cold cathode fluorescent, neon, and gas discharge lamps.
· It features a resonant power stage for sinusoidal lamp drive voltage, reducing switching loss and EMI.
· Lamp intensity is adjusted via a synchronized buck regulator.
· Suitable for automotive and battery-powered applications, it consumes only 1 µA when disabled.
· Includes soft start, open lamp detection, and smooth duty cycle control up to 100%.
