Detailed Description
- Dual Charge-Pump Voltage Converter: The internal power supply consists of a regulated dual charge pump providing output voltages of +7V and -7V over the +3.0V to +5.5V VCC range.
- RS-232 Transmitters: Inverting level translators that convert TTL/CMOS inputs to EIA/TIA-232 output levels, guaranteeing a 250kbps data rate under full load conditions.
- RS-232 Receivers: Convert RS-232 signals to CMOS output levels, accepting inputs up to ±30V and presenting a 3kΩ to 7kΩ input impedance.
- Low Power Shutdown Mode: Reduces supply current to less than 1μA, disabling charge pumps and transmitter outputs.
- ESD Protection: All pins include ESD protection structures, with RS-232 pins surviving up to ±15kV ESD events.
- Hot Swap and Fail-Safe: Ensures logic-high receiver output when receiver inputs are shorted to GND or open, or connected to a line with no driver enabled.
