DESCRIPTION

· The UM3483E and UM3486E are 3V to 5.5V-powered, ±15kV ESD-protected, slew-rate-limited differential transceivers with full RS485 compatibility.
· Designed for data transmission with an extended common mode range of -7V to 12V.
· UM3483E minimizes EMI and reduces reflections with a slew-rate-limited driver, supporting up to 500kbps data transmission.
· UM3486E supports data rates up to 2.5Mbps with partial slew-rate limiting.
· Enhanced ESD protection: ±15kV (IEC61000-4-2 Air-Gap Discharge and Human Body Model), ±8kV (IEC61000-4-2 Contact Discharge).
· Drivers are short-circuit current limited and protected by thermal shutdown circuitry.
· Receiver input fail-safe feature ensures logic-high output if inputs are open, shorted, or idle.
· Glitch-free driver outputs allow live insertion or removal of the transceiver.
· Low power consumption: 300μA (operation), 1μA (shutdown).
· Available in SOP8 and DIP8 packages for half-duplex communication.
