DESCRIPTION

· The ADM1023 is a 2-channel digital thermometer designed for thermal monitoring and management in personal computers and other systems.
· It is optimized for the Pentium® III, offering higher accuracy to reduce temperature guard banding and enhance system performance.
· The device measures microprocessor temperature using a diode-connected PNP transistor, either on-chip or discrete, without requiring calibration.
· It features an on-chip temperature sensor for monitoring the device and its environment.
· Communication is facilitated through a 2-wire SMBus-compatible serial interface, with programmable under- and overtemperature limits and an ALERT output for out-of-range conditions.
