DESCRIPTION

· The ADT7421 is a dual-channel digital thermometer designed for PCs and thermal management systems.

· It features Beta Cancellation Technology for accurate temperature measurement in small geometry (45 nm) processes.

· Pin- and register-compatible with ADM1032, ADT7461, and ADT7461A.

FEATURES

· On-Chip and Remote Temperature Sensor with 0.25°C resolution on the remote channel and 1°C on the local channel.

· Automatically cancels Beta variation effects in thermal transistors on small geometry CPUs.

· Cancels up to 50Ω of resistance in series with the remote transistor.

· Extended temperature range: 0°C to +125°C (default) or -40°C to +125°C.

· 2-Wire SMBus Serial Interface with SMBus Alert Support.

· Programmable over/undertemperature limits and offset registers for system calibration.

· Up to two overtemperature fail-safe THERM outputs.

· Available in small 8-lead MSOP and SOP packages, Pb-Free.
