DESCRIPTION

· The ADT7490 is a thermal monitor and multiple PWM fan controller designed for noise-sensitive or power-sensitive applications requiring active system cooling.

· It includes a local temperature sensor, two remote temperature sensors with series resistance cancellation, and monitors CPU temperature via a PECI interface.

· The device can drive a fan using low or high frequency signals, control up to four fans for minimal acoustic noise, and optimize fan speed based on temperature data.

· It provides critical thermal protection using a bidirectional THERM/SMBALERT pin to prevent system overheating.
