DESCRIPTION

· The FT245BL is a lead-free USB FIFO IC, enhancing functionality and reducing external components compared to its predecessor, the FT8U245AM.

· It maintains high pin compatibility, facilitating easy upgrades and cost reductions in existing designs.

FEATURES

· Single-chip USB to parallel FIFO bi-directional data transfer with rates up to 1MB/s (D2XX drivers) and 300KB/s (VCP drivers).

· Interfaces easily with MCU/PLD/FPGA using a 4-wire handshake; no USB-specific firmware needed.

· Includes 384-byte Tx and 128-byte Rx FIFO buffers, Send Immediate support, and USB Suspend/Resume functionality.

· Features integrated level converters, a 3.3V regulator, and a clock multiplier PLL from 6MHz to 48MHz.

· Supports USB Bulk/Isochronous transfers, Bit-Bang mode, and operates from 4.35V to 5.25V.

· Compatible with USB 1.1/2.0, UHCI/OHCI/EHCI controllers, and includes programmable USB VID, PID, and serial number in external EEPROM.
