DESCRIPTION

· The MAX5984 is a single-port PSE controller compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at standards, designed for power sourcing equipment.

· It integrates a power MOSFET and sense resistor, supporting PD discovery, classification, current limit, and DC/AC load-disconnect detections.

· The device operates automatically without software programming and supports Class 5 and 2-Event classification for high-power PDs.

· It provides up to 40W per port, with features like UVLO, overvoltage lockout, overtemperature detection, and LED status indication.

· Available in a 28-pin TQFN package, it operates in the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
