Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The MCP120/130 is a voltage supervisory device by Microchip Technology Inc., designed to maintain a microcontroller in reset until the system voltage stabilizes at the correct level.

· It provides protection against brown-out conditions by resetting the microcontroller when the supply voltage drops below a safe threshold.

· Available with seven different trip voltages, both devices feature open drain outputs, with the MCP130 including an internal 5 kΩ pull-up resistor.

· The RESET signal is asserted when the VDD pin voltage falls below the trip-point voltage.



FEATURES

· Holds microcontroller in reset until supply voltage stabilizes.

· Resets microcontroller during power loss.

· Monitors 3V, 3.3V, and 5V systems with precision.

· Offers seven voltage trip points.

· Features an active low RESET pin and open drain output.

· MCP130 includes a 5 kΩ internal pull-up resistor.

· Holds RESET for 350 ms (typical).

· RESET to VCC = 1.0V.

· Accuracy of ±125 mV for 5V systems and ±75 mV for 3V systems over temperature.

· Operates with a typical current of 45 µA.

· Industrial temperature range: -40°C to +85°C.
