DESCRIPTION

· The MCP120/130 from Microchip Technology Inc. is a voltage supervisory device designed to maintain a microcontroller in reset until the system voltage stabilizes at the correct level. It also provides protection against brown-out conditions by resetting the microcontroller when the supply voltage drops below a safe threshold. Available with seven trip voltage options, both devices feature open drain outputs, with the MCP130 including an internal 5 kΩ pull-up resistor. The active low RESET pin ensures the microcontroller remains in reset when the VDD pin voltage falls below the trip-point.
