DESCRIPTION

· The NXP Semiconductors SE98 is a temperature sensor designed for monitoring DRAM temperature on DIMM modules, compliant with JEDEC JC-42.4 specifications.

· It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and communicates via I2C-bus/SMBus.

· The sensor enhances system performance by providing accurate temperature data, enabling dynamic thermal throttling and memory refresh rate scaling.

FEATURES

· Measures temperature 8 times per second with an integrated ADC.

· Supports user-programmable registers for shutdown, low-power modes, and temperature event boundaries.

· Configurable EVENT output signal for thermostat operation or interrupt output.

· Supports SMBus TIMEOUT function to prevent system lock-ups.

· Three address pins allow control of up to eight devices on a single bus.
