DESCRIPTION

· The Si85xx series are unidirectional AC current sensors designed for full-scale ranges of 5, 10, and 20 A.

· These sensors offer significant improvements in size, performance, and cost over traditional current-sensing technologies such as current transformers, Hall effect devices, and DCR circuits.

· They feature extremely low-loss characteristics, adding less than 1.3 mΩ of series resistance and less than 2 nH series inductance at 25 °C.

· The current-sensing terminals are isolated from other package pins, providing up to 5 kV RMS isolation as per safety approval ratings.

FEATURES

· Single-chip AC current sensor with low loss: <1.3 mΩ primary series resistance and <2 nH inductance.

· Leading-edge noise suppression eliminates the need for leading-edge blanking.

· "Ping-Pong" output version allows one Si85xx to replace two current transformers in full-bridge designs.

· Available in 5, 10, and 20 A full-scale versions with ±5% initial accuracy.

· Operates within an input frequency range of 50 kHz to 1 MHz.

· Includes a FAULT output to safeguard operation and provides a large 2 VPP minimum output at full scale.

· Supports high-side or low-side current sensing.

· Compact 4x4x1 mm QFN package with 1 kV RMS isolation and 20-pin wide-body SOIC with 5 kV RMS isolation.

· Operating range from –40 to 125 °C with UL/VDE/CSA approval.
