DESCRIPTION

· The TPS2383B is a Power Sourcing Equipment Power Manager (PSEPM) compliant with the IEEE 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) standard.

· It is capable of discovering, classifying, and delivering power to Powered Devices (PD) over twisted pair cables.

· The device is fully programmable, allowing for the detection and powering of both IEEE 802.3af compliant devices and legacy devices.

FEATURES

· Compliant with IEEE 802.3af PoE standard.

· Features two-point 25-kΩ resistor discovery and capacitive detection for non-compliant legacy loads.

· Includes a dual-color LED driver for port status indication and hardware fault interrupt.

· Supports controlled di/dt ramp power-up and power-down for EMI reduction.

· Equipped with an electronic circuit breaker and fault detection capabilities.

· Provides input undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and load overcurrent/undercurrent detection.

· Features 12-bit port current and voltage acquisition and a standard slave I2C serial interface.

· Offers 5-bit serial address selectability and discovery/classification bypass options.
