DESCRIPTION

· The 74HC40105 and 74HCT40105 are 16-word x 4-bit FIFO registers designed for asynchronous data buffering.

· Each word position is controlled by a flip-flop with marker bits indicating data presence (logic 1) or vacancy (logic 0).

· Data automatically ripples through the register, with empty positions bubbling to the input end.

· DIR (Data-In Ready) and DOR (Data-Out Ready) outputs indicate FIFO fullness and data availability, respectively.

· Inputs feature clamp diodes for voltage protection beyond VCC.
