DESCRIPTION

· The 74HC6323A; 74HCT6323A integrates an oscillator for quartz crystals with a programmable 3-state counter, a 3-state output buffer, and an asynchronous master reset (MR).

· The counter can be set to divide-by-1, 2, 4, or 8 modes via select inputs S1 and S2; defaults to divide-by-8 if left floating.

· Operates in fundamental or third overtone mode based on crystal and external components; includes on-chip capacitors for third overtone applications.

· Accepts an external clock at X1, with X2 floating in such cases; counter advances on the negative edge of X1.

· MR resets the counter, stops the oscillator, and sets the output to 3-state; MR can float due to an internal pull-up resistor.

· X1 supports CMOS input levels and can be driven by TTL outputs with a pull-up resistor; inputs include clamp diodes for interfacing with voltages above VCC.
