DESCRIPTION

· The ACS1790T is a high-performance, low phase noise, programmable frequency synthesizer with ultra-fine dynamic output frequency control.

· It features an integrated VCO, loop filter, phase-and-frequency detector, and output dividers.

· It can operate standalone for standard frequency generation or as a companion to a compatible ToPSync™ device in Synchronous Ethernet systems.

· The device is fully programmable via an I2C interface and requires only a low-speed external clock input.

· Optimized for Synchronous Ethernet, SONET, and SDH operation.

· Meets RMS jitter requirements for Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and OC-48/STM-16.

· High-frequency LV PECL output: 10 MHz – 200 MHz, 1 ppb step.

· Low-frequency LV CMOS output: 2 kHz – 125 MHz, supports 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V operation.

· Integrated VCO, PFD, and loop filter with a VCO frequency range of 2.3 – 2.7 GHz.

· Typical RMS jitter performance: OC-48, STM-16: 0.56 ps; 1G Ethernet: 0.15 ps; XAUI: 0.11 ps; 10G Ethernet: 0.29 ps.

· Reference spurs: < -67 dBc.

· Operating voltage: 3.0 - 3.6V; Temperature range: -40 to 85°C.
