DESCRIPTION

· The ACS8514 is an optional partner IC for the ACS8520/30, adding an extra BITS clock (T4 path) DPLL to clock synchronization systems.

· It can function as an input extender, automatically selecting one of 14 clock sources, expanding the total input selection range to 27 sources with the ACS8530/20.

· Includes a highly accurate phase and frequency monitor for detailed analysis of standby clock references, capable of measuring phase from 0.7º to 23000º and frequency from 0.0003ppm to 80 ppm.

FEATURES

· Provides an additional independent T4 path for systems designed to Bellcore GR253 figure 5-21.

· Features an extra DPLL for precise phase, average phase, frequency, and average frequency measurements of any clock source.

· Enhances Phase Build-out performance to manage phase disturbances when switching between noisy input sources via software control.

· Includes IEEE 1149.1 JTAG Boundary Scan and operates on a single 3.3 V supply, 5 V tolerant.

· Available in a lead-free version (ACS8514T), compliant with RoHS and WEEE.

APPLICATIONS

· Used in SONET Minimum Clock (SMC) or SONET/SDH Equipment Clock (SEC) applications.

· Suitable for systems requiring two T4 paths as per Bellcore GR253 figure 5-21.

· Ideal for applications needing enhanced input selection and detailed clock reference analysis.
