DESCRIPTION

· The ADT7461 is a dual-channel digital thermometer and under/over temperature alarm designed for PCs and thermal management systems.

· It is pin- and register-compatible with the ADM1032 and features series resistance cancellation, configurable ALERT output, and an extended, switchable temperature measurement range.

· It accurately measures remote thermal diode temperature to ±1°C and ambient temperature to ±3°C, with a default range of 0°C to +127°C, extendable to -55°C to +150°C.

· Communication is via a 2-wire SMBus serial interface, with an SMBus address of 0x4C.

FEATURES

· On-chip and remote temperature sensor with 0.25°C resolution/1°C accuracy on remote channel and 1°C resolution/3°C accuracy on local channel.

· Automatically cancels up to 3 kΩ of resistance in series with remote diode for noise filtering.

· Extended, switchable temperature measurement range from 0°C to +127°C or -55°C to +150°C.

· Pin- and register-compatible with the ADM1032, with a 2-wire SMBus serial interface supporting SMBus Alert.

· Programmable over/undertemperature limits and offset registers for system calibration.

· Up to two overtemperature fail-safe THERM outputs, available in small 8-lead SOIC NB or 8-lead MSOP packages.

· Operating current of 170 µA and standby current of 5.5 µA, Pb-Free devices.
