DESCRIPTION

· The HCPL-8100 and HCPL-0810 are low-cost, high-current line drivers.

· Operate with a 5 V single supply, delivering up to 1 A peak-to-peak current.

· Ideal for high-current applications like Powerline modems.

· Internally protected against over-temperature conditions via thermal shutdown.

· Internal detection circuit senses under-voltage or over-load conditions, indicated by the Status pin.

· Transmit enable (Tx-en) input allows disabling the output stage to reduce power dissipation.

· Operating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C.

· HCPL-8100 available in DIP-8 package; HCPL-0810 available in SO-8 package.
