DESCRIPTION

· The MAX5974E/MAX5974F are current-mode PWM controllers designed for non-isolated synchronous flyback converters in Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) powered device (PD) applications.
· The MAX5974E supports universal or telecom input ranges, while the MAX5974F accommodates low input voltages down to 8.4V.
· These devices enhance supply efficiency with features like a synchronous MOSFET driver and programmable dead time for zero-voltage switching (ZVS).
· They operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and are available in 16-pin TQFN-EP packages.

FEATURES

· Peak current-mode control with synchronous flyback PWM.
· Internal 1% error amplifier eliminates the need for external shunt regulators and optocouplers.
· Programmable switching frequency from 100kHz to 600kHz, with synchronization up to 1.2MHz.
