DESCRIPTION



· The MCP41XX and MCP42XX devices provide a versatile range of digital potentiometers and rheostats with SPI interface.

· WiperLock Technology ensures secure storage of application-specific calibration settings in EEPROM.



FEATURES



· Single or Dual Resistor Network options with Potentiometer or Rheostat configurations.

· Resistor Network Resolution: 7-bit (128 resistors, 129 steps) and 8-bit (256 resistors, 257 steps).

· RAB Resistances: 5 kΩ, 10 kΩ, 50 kΩ, 100 kΩ.

· Low Wiper Resistance: 75 Ω (typical).

· Low Tempco: 50 ppm (Rheostat), 15 ppm (Potentiometer).

· Non-volatile Memory with Automatic Recall and WiperLock™ Technology.

· SPI serial interface (10 MHz, modes 0,0 & 1,1) with high-speed read/write capabilities.

· Resistor Network Terminal Disconnect via Shutdown pin or Terminal Control Register.

· Write Protect Feature: Hardware and Software options.

· Brown-out reset protection (1.5V typical).

· High-Voltage Tolerant Digital Inputs: Up to 12.5V.

· Wide Operating Voltage: 2.7V to 5.5V.

· Extended temperature range: -40°C to +125°C.
