Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The NE1617A is a precise two-channel temperature monitor.

· It measures both its own temperature and that of a remote sensor.

· The remote sensor is a diode-connected transistor, either discrete or integrated.

· Temperature data is stored in a register accessible via a 2-wire SMBus.

· Update rate and alarm trip points are programmable.

· Supports one-shot mode for immediate temperature update.

· Can be set to standby mode to conserve power.



FEATURES

· Replaces Maxim MAX1617 and Analog Devices ADM1021.

· Monitors local and remote temperatures with specified accuracies.

· No calibration required.

· Programmable overtemperature/undertemperature alarm.

· Operates with a 3 V to 5.5 V supply, tolerant up to 5.5 V.

· Low supply current: 70µA in operation, 3µA in standby.



APPLICATIONS

· Temperature monitoring in microprocessor systems.
