DESCRIPTION
· PCA8553 is an ultra low-power LCD segment driver with 4 backplane- and 40 segment-driver outputs, supporting I2C or SPI-bus interfaces. It includes an internal oscillator, bias generation, instruction decoding, and display controller.
FEATURES
· AEC-Q100 grade 2 compliant for automotive applications up to 105 °C.
· Single chip LCD controller and driver.
· Configurable backplane drive: static, 2, 3, or 4 backplane multiplexing.
· Configurable display bias: static, 1⁄2, or 1⁄3.
· Internal LCD bias generation with buffers.
· 40 segment drives supporting up to 20 7-segment numeric characters, 10 14-segment alphanumeric characters, or any graphics up to 160 segments.
· Auto-incrementing display data and instruction loading.
· Versatile blinking modes.
· Independent V LCD and V DD supplies.
· Power supply ranges: 1.8 V to 5.5 V for both V LCD and V DD.
· Ultra low-power consumption.
· 400 kHz I2C-bus and 5 MHz SPI-bus interfaces.
· Internally generated or externally supplied clock signal.
