Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The NXP SA56004X is an SMBus-compatible, 11-bit digital temperature sensor with overtemperature alarms.
· It monitors both local and remote diode junctions, such as microprocessor substrate PNPs or diode-connected transistors like 2N3904/2N3906.
· Factory trimming ensures ±1°C remote sensor accuracy.
· Features ALERT and T_CRIT outputs for temperature threshold alerts.
· Available in SO8, TSSOP8, and HVSON8 packages.
· Pin-compatible with LM86, MAX6657/8, and ADM1032.
· Supports 8 factory-programmed device addresses for server applications.

· Remote temperature sensing accuracy: ±1°C.
· On-chip local temperature sensing accuracy: ±2°C.
· Temperature range: -40°C to +125°C.
· 11-bit resolution with 0.125°C precision.
· Programmable under/overtemperature alarms (ALERT and T_CRIT).
· SMBus 2.0-compatible interface with TIMEOUT support.
· Operating voltage: 3.0V to 3.6V.
· I2C-bus Standard-mode and Fast-mode compatible.
· Programmable conversion rate: 0.0625 Hz to 26 Hz.
· Undervoltage lockout prevents incorrect readings.
· Latch-up testing exceeds JEDEC Standard JESD78 (100 mA).
