DESCRIPTION

· The A8837 is a highly integrated IC for charging photoflash capacitors in digital and film cameras.
· It features an integrated MOSFET switch for flyback topology and an IGBT driver for flash discharge.
· The CHARGE pin enables the IC and starts capacitor charging, stopping when the designated voltage is reached.
· The ¯D¯ ¯ ¯O¯ ¯¯N¯ ¯E¯ pin indicates when the output voltage is achieved.
· Peak current limit is adjustable from 700 mA to 2 A via the CHARGE pin.
· Compatible with 1 Li+ or 2 Alkaline/NiMH/NiCAD batteries.
· Available in a low-profile 3 mm × 3 mm MLP/TDFN package.
