DESCRIPTION

· The ISL8487E, ISL81487L, and ISL81487E are RS-485/RS-422 transceivers with ±15kV ESD protection.

· These devices support a 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 transceivers on a single RS-485 bus.

· They operate on a 5V power supply with a 10% tolerance (4.5V to 5.5V).

· The ISL8487E and ISL81487L feature slew rate limited drivers for reduced EMI and reflections, supporting data rates up to 250kbps.

· The ISL81487E supports higher data rates up to 5Mbps.

· The devices include fail-safe receiver inputs, short-circuit protected driver outputs, and thermal shutdown protection.
