DESCRIPTION

· The ISL8485, ISL8490, and ISL8491 are 5V-powered RS-485/RS-422 transceivers compliant with both standards.
· Designed for 10% tolerance supplies (4.5V to 5.5V), supporting data rates up to 5Mbps.
· Single unit load allows up to 32 devices on the bus.
· Features include fail-safe Rx inputs, short-circuit protected Tx outputs, and thermal shutdown.
· ISL8490 and ISL8491 support full duplex; ISL8485 supports half duplex.
