DESCRIPTION

· The ISL8485, ISL8490, and ISL8491 are 5V-powered RS-485/RS-422 transceivers compliant with both standards.
· These BiCMOS devices support data rates up to 5Mbps and operate with a 10% supply voltage tolerance (4.5V to 5.5V).
· Designed for robust communication, they feature fail-safe Rx inputs, short-circuit protected Tx outputs, and thermal shutdown protection.
· The ISL8490 and ISL8491 support full duplex, while the ISL8485 is configured for half duplex.
