DESCRIPTION

· The ISL9209 is an IC designed for redundant safety protection in Li-ion battery charging systems.

· It monitors input voltage, battery voltage, and charge current, turning off an internal P-channel MOSFET if any parameter exceeds its limit.

· The IC also monitors its internal temperature, shutting off the MOSFET if the temperature exceeds 140°C.

· It provides triple-level protection and is two-fault tolerant when used with a battery charger IC and protection module.

· The IC features a logic warning output for fault indication and an enable input for system control.
