DESCRIPTION

· The MK712 Touch Screen Controller IC integrates screen drive, A/D converter, and control circuits for 4-wire analog resistive touch screens.
· It continuously monitors the screen in a low-power mode (0.5µA) and detects touches.
· Upon touch detection, it performs A/D conversions, stores X and Y coordinates, and issues an interrupt.
· Operates at a maximum speed of 197 points/second and resumes low-power mode when no touch is detected.

· Available in 28-pin SSOP (150 mil) or 28-pin SOIC (300 mil) packages.
· Supports industrial (-30°C to +70°C), commercial (0°C to +70°C), and automotive (-35°C to +85°C) temperature ranges.
· Pb-free design with fully integrated low-power operation.
· Standby current of 0.5µA (typical) at 5.0 V, active current <10 mA during conversion.
· Resolves 350 dots/inch on a 10.5” display.
· 12-bit A/D converter with monotonic performance and programmable conversion rate.
· Requires only external capacitors; no external transistors needed.
· Supports 3.3 V or 5 V supply and simplifies touch screen software development.
