DESCRIPTION

· The PCA9534A is an 8-bit I/O expander designed for 2.3-V to 5.5-V VCC operation, facilitating general-purpose remote I/O expansion for most microcontroller families via the I2C interface.

· It includes an 8-bit configuration register, input port, output port, and polarity inversion register, with all I/Os configured as inputs at power on.

· The device features an open-drain interrupt output activated by changes in input states, and a power-on reset feature to reset the device to default settings.



FEATURES

· Low standby current consumption of 1 μA max.

· Operates with a power-supply voltage range of 2.3 V to 5.5 V and supports 5-V tolerant I/O ports.

· Features a 400-kHz Fast I2C bus and three hardware address pins allowing up to eight devices on the I2C/SMBus.

· Includes input and output configuration registers, a polarity inversion register, and internal power-on reset.

· Provides noise filter on SCL and SDA inputs and latched outputs with high-current drive capability for directly driving LEDs.
