DESCRIPTION

· The PCF8574/74A is a remote I/O expander for the I2C-bus, offering 8-bit quasi-bidirectional ports.

· It operates between 2.5 V and 6 V, with a 100 kHz I2C-bus interface and three hardware address inputs.

· The device features an active LOW open-drain interrupt output and supports up to 16 devices on the same I2C-bus.

· It has a low static current consumption of 2.5 µA, making it suitable for mobile applications.

· The PCF8574 and PCF8574A differ only in the fixed portion of the slave address.
