DESCRIPTION
· The PCA9701/PCA9702 are low-power, 18V tolerant SPI General Purpose Input (GPI) shift registers designed for monitoring switch inputs, generating interrupts upon state changes.
· These devices can withstand up to 18V with a 100kΩ series resistor, suitable for automotive applications including 12V battery connections, reverse battery, jump start, and load dump conditions.
· The PCA9701 monitors 16 switch inputs, while the PCA9702 monitors 8, with input levels recognized as HIGH above 0.7×VDD and LOW below 0.4×VDD.
FEATURES
· 16 (PCA9701) or 8 (PCA9702) general purpose input ports with 18V tolerance and 100kΩ external series resistor.
· Low input threshold of 0.4×VDD, minimum 2V at VDD=4.5V, with open-drain interrupt output.
· Operates from 2.5V to 5.5V with a maximum current consumption of 2.5µA.
· SPI serial interface supports speeds up to 5MHz, with robust ESD protection exceeding 8kV HBM, 350V MM, and 1000V CDM.
· Latch-up testing exceeds 100mA, operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.
