DESCRIPTION
· The CS1680 is a cascade boost-buck dimmable LED driver designed for the 12V halogen lamp-replacement market.
· It utilizes Cirrus Logic's proprietary intelligent digital control for exceptional compatibility with single-lamp and multi-lamp transformer systems.
· Features a continuous conduction mode (CCM) boost converter for transformer and dimmer compatibility.
· Adaptive digital algorithm ensures flicker-free operation down to 5% output current with leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmers.
FEATURES
· Best-in-class transformer compatibility for both magnetic and electronic transformers.
· Best-in-class dimmer compatibility with leading-edge (TRIAC) and trailing-edge dimmers.
· High efficiency: up to 80% for CS1680-00 and up to 83% for CS1680-02.
· Flicker-free dimming with a minimum dimming level of 5%.
· Cascade boost-buck topology with constant-current output.
· Fast startup and tight LED current regulation better than ±10%.
· Power factor greater than 0.9 on magnetic transformers.
· Includes protections for output open/short, boost overvoltage, overcurrent detection, and external overtemperature using NTC.
