DESCRIPTION

· The PCA9532 is a 16-bit I2C-bus and SMBus I/O expander designed for LED dimming in 256 steps, suitable for RGB color mixing and backlight applications.

· It features an internal oscillator with two programmable blink rates and duty cycles, enabling precise control over LED brightness by adjusting the duty cycle.

· The device supports open-drain outputs capable of sinking up to 25 mA per bit and 200 mA per package, directly driving LEDs.

· Unused I/O bits can function as general-purpose GPIOs, offering flexibility for additional I/O needs.

· The PCA9532 includes a hardware reset pin and power-on reset functionality, initializing registers to default states.

· Three hardware address pins allow up to eight devices to operate on the same I2C bus.
