DESCRIPTION

· The X4043/45 integrates Power-on Reset Control, Watchdog Timer, Supply Voltage Supervision, and Block Lock Protect Serial EEPROM Memory into a single package.
· This integration reduces system cost, board space requirements, and enhances reliability.
· Upon power application, the power-on reset circuit activates, holding RESET /RESET active to allow power supply and oscillator stabilization before processor code execution.
· The Watchdog Timer offers independent protection for microcontrollers, activating RESET /RESET if the microcontroller fails to restart the timer within a selectable interval.
· Low VCC detection circuitry resets the system when VCC falls below the minimum trip point, with RESET /RESET asserted until VCC stabilizes at the proper operating level.

FEATURES

· Selectable watchdog timer with three preset interval values.
· Low VCC detection with five standard reset threshold voltages and adjustable threshold via a special programming sequence.
· Low power CMOS with less than 20µA max standby current (watchdog on) and less than 1µA standby current (watchdog off).
· 4kbits of EEPROM with 16-byte page write mode, self-timed write cycle, and 5ms typical write cycle time.
· Built-in inadvertent write protection with Block Lock™ protection for 0, 1/4, 1/2, all or 16, 32, 64, or 128 bytes of EEPROM array.
· 400kHz 2-wire interface and operation from 2.7V to 5.5V power supply.
· Available in 8 Ld SOIC, 8 Ld MSOP, and 8 Ld PDIP packages, Pb-free plus anneal available (RoHS compliant).
