Overview

DESCRIPTION



· The Intersil ICM7228 is an 8-digit, microprocessor-compatible LED display decoder driver.

· It interfaces microprocessors to an 8-digit, 7-segment numeric LED display.

· Includes two types of 7-segment decoders, multiplex scan circuitry, LED segment and digit drivers, and an 8-byte static memory as display RAM.

· Data can be written in sequential 8-digit update or single-digit update format for ICM7228A/B, and parallel random access format for ICM7228C.

· ICM7228A and ICM7228C drive common anode displays, while ICM7228B drives common cathode displays.

· Supports Hexadecimal, Code B, and No Decode modes for RAM data display.

· No Decode mode allows individual segment control for irregular display formats like bargraphs.

· Acts as an alternative to Maxim ICM7218 and Intersil ICM7218 display drivers.
