DESCRIPTION

· The LP8545 is a white LED driver with an integrated boost converter, designed for efficient backlighting in notebooks.

· It features six adjustable current sinks controlled via PWM input or I2C-compatible serial interface.

· The boost converter adapts output voltage based on LED driver voltages to minimize power consumption.

· LED outputs offer 8-bit current resolution and up to 13-bit PWM resolution with dithering for smooth brightness control.

· Proprietary Phase Shift PWM control reduces peak current, allowing for smaller boost capacitors and eliminating audible noise.

· Internal EEPROM stores configuration data, reducing external component count and solution size.

FEATURES

· High-Voltage DC/DC Boost Converter with integrated FET and four switching frequency options: 156/312/625/1250 kHz.

· Configurable for use with external FET for higher output voltage applications.

· Input voltage range of 2.7V to 22V, supporting 1x to 5x cell Li-Ion batteries.

· Programmable PWM resolution from 8 to 13 true bits with additional 1-3 bit dithering.
