Overview

DESCRIPTION

· The NCA9555 is a 16-bit I²C/SMBus I/O expander with interrupt output and configuration registers.

· It operates at a voltage range of 1.65 V to 5.5 V, featuring default pull-up resistors on GPIOs.

· Designed for minimal interconnections, it is ideal for applications like ACPI power switches, sensors, push buttons, LEDs, and fan control.

· Includes 8-bit input, output, configuration, and polarity inversion registers, with all IOs defaulting to inputs at power-up.

· Features an open-drain interrupt output activated by GPIO state changes.

· Supports up to eight devices on the same I²C-bus/SMBus via three address pins (A0, A1, A2).



FEATURES

· I²C-bus to parallel port expander.

· Low standby current consumption: 2.5 µA (maximum).

· Schmitt-trigger action for enhanced noise immunity on SCL and SDA inputs.

· 5 V tolerant I/Os with 16 I/O pins configured as inputs with weak pull-up at power-up.

· Open-drain active LOW interrupt output (INT).

· 400 kHz Fast-mode I²C-bus.

· Internal power-on reset with no glitch on power-up.

· Latched outputs capable of driving LEDs directly with 25 mA drive maximum.

· Exceeds 100 mA latch-up performance per JESD78, Class II.

· ESD protection: HBM exceeds 2000 V, CDM exceeds 1000 V.

· Operational temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C.
