· The SAS4xNN series represents the ninth generation of SAS expanders, integrating SAS-4 technology with Broadcom's robust hardware and firmware architecture.

· It offers 24, 32, 40, and 48 ports for connecting 6G, 12G, 24G SAS, and 6Gb/s SATA devices, doubling the bandwidth of previous 12Gb/s expanders without increasing energy consumption or package size.

· The series includes advanced features like system initialization, LED and enclosure management, and topology management, enhancing drive spin-up efficiencies and power management.

· Supports SSP, SMP, and STP initiator and target protocols along with SATA protocols.

· Features 24G SAS interface supporting 6G, 12G, 24G SAS, and 6Gb/s SATA data transfer rates with Spread Spectrum Clocking.

· Enables initiator and target connections from any PHY with support for narrow and wide port configurations.
