DESCRIPTION

· The LM5145 is a 75-V synchronous buck controller designed for high input voltage sources or input rails with high voltage transients.

· It features a high-side switch minimum on-time of 40 ns, enabling large step-down ratios and direct conversion from 48-V nominal input to low-voltage rails.

· The controller operates during input voltage dips as low as 6 V, with nearly 100% duty cycle if needed, making it suitable for high-performance industrial control, robotic, datacom, and RF power applications.

· It supports Forced-PWM (FPWM) operation to minimize EMI and offers user-selectable diode emulation for reduced current consumption at light-load conditions.

· The adjustable switching frequency up to 1 MHz can be synchronized to an external clock source to eliminate beat frequencies in noise-sensitive applications.

FEATURES

· Wide input voltage range of 6 V to 75 V with a 0.8-V reference and ±1% feedback accuracy.

· Adjustable output voltage from 0.8 V to 60 V with 40-ns t ON(min) for high V IN / VOUT ratio and 140-ns t OFF(min) for low dropout.

· Switching frequency from 100 kHz to 1 MHz with SYNC In and SYNC Out capability, and selectable diode emulation or FPWM.

· 7.5-V gate drivers for standard V TH MOSFETs with 14-ns adaptive dead-time control and 2.3-A source and 3.5-A sink capability.

· Fast line and load transient response with voltage-mode control and line feedforward, and a high gain-bandwidth error amplifier.

· Inherent protection features include adjustable output voltage soft start, hiccup-mode overcurrent protection, input UVLO with hysteresis, VCC and gate-drive UVLO protection, precision enable input, open-drain PGOOD indicator, and thermal shutdown protection with hysteresis.

· Available in a 20-pin VQFN package with wettable flanks.
